Fresh new look for flats

Property News/ 13 July 2012 No comments

SOME 1,300 residents of Taman Emas high-rise flats in Teluk Kumbar in Penang got some cheer upon coming home to find their blocks had been given a fresh coat of paint.

The surau of the flats was also upgraded.

It was furnished with new carpets and curtains and it was also repainted on the exterior.

Both the projects were undertaken by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) called the Penang Malay Congress.

Its president Rahmad Isahak said the project was funded by a Penang-born entrepreneur who wished to remain anonymous.

“The flats before they were repainted were unsightly.

“Since they were constructed 22 years ago, they had not been given a fresh coat of paint until now.”

The total amount spent on both the repainting of the blocks and the upgrading of the surau was RM330,000.

“The sum was donated by the entrepreneur. The work took one and a half months to complete.

“We are probably the first NGO in Malaysia who has managed to complete this type of project,” he said before launching the repainting effort recently.

Rahmad stressed there was no political motive behind the repainting effort.

“We are an NGO who just want the best for the Malay community and we truly want to help those who are in need.

“These projects will also benefit the non-Malays who are living here,” he said.

The flats consist of three five-storey blocks totalling 320 units.

Condo project specially designed to infuse modern living with nature

Property News/ 8 July 2012 No comments

BSG Property’s latest offering of Raffles Tower combines contemporary architecture with the natural environment to create a ‘resort living in the sky’ concept towards a holistic lifestyle.

Located in Bukit Gambier, Penang, the 29-storey freehold condominium embraces the best that Mother Nature has to offer while featuring spacious modern family living.

BSG Property business development manager Koay Wei Loong said the 260 elite residences would be crafted with thoughtful layouts and well-appointed interiors to provide comfort, privacy and exclusivity.

“There are only five units per floor with built-up areas ranging from 1,400sq ft to 1,600sq ft. The homes come with 3+1 bedrooms, flexible spaces and high ceilings to allow plenty of natural light,” he said.

He said the development was also designed to capture the unencumbered view of either the sea or green hills as well as to provide a range of top notch leisure and recreational facilities and multi-tiered 24-hour security.

The amenities include an Olympic-size infinity pool, wading and bubble pools, glass box gymnasium, outdoor exercise area, sauna, BBQ pavilion, reading room, children’s playroom and playground, recreation park, community area and a multi-purpose room.

Koay said residents get to work out in comfort while taking in the beautiful view of the swimming pool and beyond at the fully equipped glass box gymnasium, adding that Raffles Tower was scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.

He said: “Residents will also find all that they need within the community as the project is surrounded by shopping complexes, commercial districts and public infrastructures. Imagine living in a tropical haven amidst nature, yet only a shout from the city centre.”

Its central location places it minutes away from the Penang International Airport, Penang Bridge, Universiti Sains Malaysia and George Town. Easy accessibility is also assured as Bukit Gambier is well connected by major roads.

“Worth to mention, Raffles Tower is an integral part of The Raffles township development spreading across approximately 120 acres of prime land situated along Jalan Bukit Gambier.

“Soon to be unveiled, The Raffles’s master-plan will be a prestigious residential neighbourhood of landed and highrise units complemented by commercial pockets, making it one of the top township development in the Penang real estate scene,” Koay emphasised.

He added that Raffles Tower is now open for registration and interested purchasers could check out the project at the Star Property Fair 2012.

Touted as Malaysia’s premier showcase for stylish living, the four-day extravaganza will be held at Gurney Plaza and the adjoining G Hotel from July 12 to July 15.
