A key handover ceremony was held on Sunday for the Rumah MutiaraKu (RMKu) Type C units at Residensi Pauh Harmoni in Permatang Pauh. The event, which also coincided with the Penang State Housing Board’s (LPNPP) Customer Engagement Day, took place at the project site and was officiated by Sundarajoo A/L Somu. Also present were Khairulnizam Bin Hashim, Fong Sui Leong, and Eugene Fong Chuen, along with representatives from local authorities and stakeholders.

The ceremony marks another step forward in the state government’s commitment to delivering affordable housing under the Penang2030 vision. To date, a total of 176,457 affordable housing units have been delivered, representing 80.21% of the targeted 220,000 units by 2030. In addition, initiatives such as rent-to-own schemes and urban renewal programmes are also being implemented. Current progress stands at 5,424 units (24.65%) for rent-to-own and 6,840 units (228%) for urban renewal, reflecting varying levels of advancement across these initiatives.

Residensi Pauh Harmoni, developed by Golden Village Properties, is one of the projects contributing to these targets. Built on a 5,045 square metre site, the development comprises a single seven-storey block with 112 units. Each unit offers a built-up size ranging from 800 to 900 sq ft, featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The units are delivered with basic fittings including tiled flooring, four air-conditioning units, and kitchen cabinets. The project reached full completion on 27 March 2026.

During the ceremony, 30 homeowners were invited to receive their keys in a symbolic handover, marking the beginning of occupancy for the completed development. The project highlights ongoing efforts by the state and its development partners to expand access to affordable housing in Penang.
