An interesting development concept by Hampshire Group

Model

A Shaolin martial arts temple, international school, college, four-star hotel and over 2,100 residential units are planned for the huge piece of cleared hill slope forest near Teluk Bahang.

The temple will cover approximately 40,000 sq.ft. with a 4,800 sq.ft. meditation yard. The proposed hotel will be 25 storeys high on a 46,000 sq.ft. plot.

Housing units being planned include 1,378 affordable housing units in five 30-floor towers, 351 terraced and semi-detached houses, 135 two-storey bungalows and 216 “super condos” in a 32-floor tower.

The condo tower is laid on the development plan at the fringe of the land near Teluk Bahang Recreational Forest, overlooking the dam.

According to the developer, this is still a concept and they have yet to start the feasibility study of the plan.

For the affordable housing, the developer is planning to build 1,000 sq.ft. unit with facilities such as swimming pools and gymnasiums, and price it around RM300,000 per unit.

Remember the “Farlim” fiasco during the last general election, when mega land deals were made and Mr Goh announcing all those affordable condos that will be built, and then going around in his motorbike handing over cash to strangers? Joe Lim would probably have to be that clown the next GE coming. His old man used to be the proxy for all this dirty stuff, but now too old to be doing this kind of stunts anymore, although he was still tall and healthy when I met him a few months back.

I do not support destroying the hills to make some kungfu/taichi/massage/spa center

If I have a piece of land, whether it’s owned by me, my old man, or grandfather, I can’t just simply build a house/permanent structure on it as I wish because I need a permit from the council to do so. If there is currently no law for hill clearing within private hills, then we must create one.

I believe there is a law in place but it only covers up to a certain altitude. So I believe this land falls below that height restriction. Maybe they need to revise that law again t have bigger coverage because Developers will find ways and loop holes to escape the law.

Gimmick project, Why did Orchid Hotel fail if there is demand here? Why not refurbish Orchid? This guy is just trying to pump the valuation on his worthless land,
Even Moonlight Bay, Mudah is flush with units , the ad has been placed for months with good price, but no buyers,
Oversupply of hotels already, and nobody wants to stay at this location with this narrow and dangerous road. Good luck to this Hampshire Group, whoever they are.
